Another trophyless season

It has been a nervous moment for the team and the fans as well in the start of the season. with nobody of that 'experienced player' coming in as rumoured, we were already questioning mr wenger's ambition towards this season. however, he did brought in 'the new zidane' in the form of samir nasri. well, he started his first game with a prayer, my first sight of such an action in the EPL. alhamdulillah, tp seluar pendek x ttup aurat...hehe! nvmd, dats his problem. nway, he started out his arsenal career with a goal against WBA within 4 minutes. what a dream debut huh? there goes our hopes on the 21-year old playmaker from french.

but things could not been worst for arsenal as we lose the second EPL match against fulham. it was a lacklustre performance by the boys. they took revenge on the next games and followed by a promising performance the young gunners who beat the blades 6-0 in the carling cup competition. the spirit was high and everyone thought a game against hull would be an easy game. unfortunately and surprisingly, we lost to hull! now then, i started questioning wenger's decision to sell gilberto and flamini. for me, flamini was the main driving force for arsenal in the previous season, but we couldnt keep hold of him...sigh.

okay now, i wont go game by game coz i know no one would read the 38 games + FA cup + carling cup + UCL matches commentaries..i will just go to the conclusion.

i guess the departure of gilberto, flamini and hleb was not a good decision. we let go three of the main players who have played well in the previous seasons. that leaves arsenal's midlfield in the hands of a bunch of young players. even the skipper himself was only 21 when he was appointed. but, when i looked back at it, i found out that it was a good opportunity for likes of denilson and ale song to prove themselves. i would prefer song to be the anchor man than denilson. he has greater strength as better control of the ball as a DM. the departure of the mentioned players actually helps building the confidence in the young players. but still, we need a better DM to anchor our midfield. i won't mind if mr wenger go and buy lorik cana. man, he is just a type of DM who would rip apart opponent's attacks. maybe, just maybe, his presence would help cesc to perform even better.

the arrival of andrey arshavin was at good timing when the team wasn't performing to our standard. yes, he brouhgt the creativity that has been lacking in the team's attack. he is not than cry-baby would easily go down with a challenge. i remember he started the second half against blackburn with his foot stitched. now, that what i call a true footballer. man, dat impossible but fascinating goal against blackburn showed his capability as shown when he was in russia.

we came close by advancing to the FA cup and UCL semis, but we peaked early and couldn't finish the jobs. but, i do believe we can be better next season.
